Medical tattooing
Areola restoration and 3D tattooing.
Individual areola tattooing following breast surgery, reconstruction, trauma or gender-affirming surgery, designed around your body, preferences and goals.
3D nipple and areola tattooing
A realistic illusion, created on flat skin.
This specialist treatment is for people who have lost or experienced significant changes to one or both nipples or areolas following mastectomy, breast reconstruction, trauma or gender-affirming surgery.
Custom-mixed pigments, shading and fine detail create the realistic appearance of an areola and nipple projection on flat skin. Shape, size, colour and placement are designed individually and may be matched to an existing nipple or areola where appropriate.
This is a visual tattooing technique. It cannot create physical projection, restore sensation or change the underlying structure of the breast or chest.
Natural areola restoration
Restore colour, shape and balance.
This treatment is for people who have an existing nipple and areola but would like to improve its colour, shape, size, symmetry or the appearance of surrounding scars.
It may be suitable following breast reduction, uplift, reconstruction, gynecomastia surgery, trauma or gender-affirming surgery. Tattooing can visually enlarge or reshape an areola, but cannot physically alter the nipple’s structure.
Suitability
Consultation comes first.
The treatment area must be fully healed and medically stable. We assess the skin, scars and any remaining pigment before recommending treatment.
We discuss your medical and healing history, placement, colour, expectations and any reasonable adjustments. Medical clearance may be requested. Where appropriate, a pigment or patch test will be completed during the consultation at no additional cost.
What to expect
Individual results, built with care.
The initial price includes one perfecting session, normally completed 8 to 12 weeks later. This should usually take place within 16 weeks of the first treatment unless healing, medical advice or another circumstance agreed with the practitioner requires a longer interval.
Results are intended to look natural, but perfect symmetry, exact colour matching and permanent pigment retention cannot be guaranteed. A future maintenance colour boost may be recommended as the pigment gradually fades.
Healing
Allow the colour time to settle.
Colour will look stronger immediately after treatment and will soften as the skin heals. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, dryness or light flaking may occur.
You will receive written aftercare explaining how to protect the area while it heals. Avoid picking, rubbing, soaking, heavy sweating and direct sun for the period advised.
